Mr. Richard Lambert's Safe ReturnOn the 22nd of May, Mr Richard Lambert of Lyston Hall, Essex, gave a farewell party to his tenantry previous to his departure to the Isle of Jersey. Ample justice was done to the hospitality of the worthy host and never was a " wine cup" pledged more heartily welcome or a happier return.

Treasie Sawyer passed away last Thursday after battling a fever. She had a young son, Thomas Sawyer, and a sister-in-law, Polly Sawyer. The doctor couldn’t identify the type of fever she had, but he said that there were others in the community struggling with the same symptoms. It doesn’t appear to be a serious problem yet, but he urges the community to take caution when symptoms appear.

Injun Joe Escapes PrisonLocal criminal escaped from prison on March 12, after serving only three weeks of his life sentence. Injun Joe was imprisoned for robbing a bank, and the murders of two bank employee’s. Officers say that he was able to escape through a hole that he had dug. “He had been working on the hole for a while, and would cover it up to hide it from the officers,” said Sheriff Henderson.
New Teacher in TownSt. Petersburg has a new school teacher this August. This new member of the community is Mr. Raymond Dobbins. He comes to us from a small town in northern Idaho. He is staying with the Bates family until Christmas and will be staying with the Goodrich family for the remainder of the year.
Grave RobbersThere has been a string of grave robberies that started February 13th. Six have been reported and they continue on. The most recent occurred on March 4th, and no evidence has been collected. There are no connections between the robberies, they seem to be random.
